THE FRENCH CLASSICAL TRAINING • Horses’ instincts and behaviors are truly respected and understood • is a very effective cross training tool - can be applied to all breeds and disciplines • emphasizes the use of humane techniques for a trusting and relaxed horse • uses a logical progression of steps and exercises based on the natural instinct & mechanics of the horse • encourages perfecting yourself as a rider to improve your horse • teaches the lightness of aids for a willing response from the horse • develops straightness in the horse for balance • emphasizes building a connection from back to front • develops true collection and self-carriage in a natural way Frequently Asked Questions • Lynn & Cyril personally teach the clinic. • You will benefit from the guidance of 2 instructors for a limited group of 10 riders. • Riders may register for one, two or three days. • In addition to instruction under saddle, there are lectures and demonstrations. • A limited number of Palm Equestrian Academy School Master Horses available for lease. • Riders may use english, western or dressage saddles. • Riders must meet the Prerequisites to enter each level. • Levels 3 and 4 will be offered in 2021. Prerequisites Level 1 Level 1 is open to all riders, new to riding and/or new to the Palm Equestrian Academy program or those who are currently participating. • You do not need to know how to canter • Gaited horses are welcome • Your horse needs to be suitable and safe • Experienced, calm, safe trained horses Prerequisites Level 2 Level 2 is open to all riders who are new to Palm Equestrian Academy program and/or those who are currently participating. • You need to be confident at all 3 gaits • Your horse needs to be safe and suitable • No horses in their first year of training • You have to have a basic control of speed and direction • You need to be able to ride without stirrups
