Hi Lynn!

Palm Partnership TrainingI am VERY EXCITED at the thought of having a Lark horse of my very own one day!!!!! I think it will probably take me more than a year (probably a couple after seeing the price tag) to afford him/her, but I’ll get started now and see where I land.

My Royal Lark sounds like a wonderful horse and I hope that I can at least meet him if I come to Florida next year for one of your courses. His personality sounds just like mine – fun loving and kind. We seem to enjoy the same things – versatility. I get SO BORED doing the same thing over and over again and think that horses feel the same when they are talented. I know that Freddy does. The more I think about expanding my capability for all around classes, the more excited I get about it!!

To me, less is more Lynn and I’d like to get to the point in my riding where I can ride without any tack at all, just the partnership I build with Fred, both in the arena and out on open trail. This is my ultimate goal for any horse that is part of our family. I think this bond is essential to winning in competition!

I believe in trusting in the power of good Lynn. When I read your last note to me, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy and peace flood through me as if to say, “Your next horse will come from her.” Goose bumps covered my arms!!!! That’s how strong it was! So I’m going to trust in that and know that all will unfold as it should with perfect timing for both you, me and that special horse. That’s the great thing about universal good – it blesses everyone the same!

Sincerely,
Kelli Castro

Dear Lynn,

I just had to write to tell you how much I enjoyed Dressage Principles on Sunday, suffice it to say I am hooked! I am the one with the chubby red roan Quarter Horse.

"Dusty" (Sonny's Bleak Star) made me so proud of him. I have ridden him for almost a year, the first six months as a lease, and I bought him in January. He is 8 years old and has been ridden western and english pleasure as well as some jumping. Until Sunday, he hadn't been off of my instructor's farm in almost 2 years. Not only did he come to the clinic and behave himself, but I took him to his new home, my house, afterward and he was almost perfect for that too!!

Anyway, I have taken 4 years of lessons, once a week at a local hunter/jumper barn. While I jump, it is not my favorite thing, and Dusty tends to jump really big anyway. My new love is Dressage! I admit that it kind of intimidated me up until now. I think it will help Dusty and I both to build a strong and hopefully long lasting partnership. I felt like everything you were telling us made so much sense and has practical applications to everyday riding.

My greatest fear to overcome at this point is cantering him in the field at home. I plan to work on it in small steps! Thanks so much for making your knowledge and experience a resource for the rest of us. I look forward to riding with you again some day. I would like to do some equitation work and some more dressage with you if I ever have the opportunity. I think I will see if I can switch my Practical Horseman subscription to Dressage Today!!!! Thanks again!

Lynn,

I wanted to thank you for the excellent experience at the clinic at Emerald Acres. I really enjoyed the clinic and learned a lot. You do a fabulous job of breaking down the task into tiny segments that are more easily understood and performed.

It was inspiring to watch you ride and see the true partnership you have with your horses. I was impressed with your ability to personalize the training, even when dealing with a group. Your passion for teaching shows and made it such an enjoyable experience for me and my horse.

Thanks much.

Lynn and Cyril,

Lynn Palm at workI just had to let you know that Peaches and I won a First Place in the Novice Equitation class this Saturday! This was the first time we won first place, but then this was only our third show. The pattern had a serpertine, a turn on the forehand and an extended trot.

Peaches had not done the turn on the forehand correct all morning in practice even though she can do it quite well. But, in the ring she did it like a champ.

I was very relaxed entering the ring, as I remembered your tips from the equitation class and the lecture on show ring tips. This was my first show since I attended your school and we placed in every class we entered. Thanks for the great instruction from you and Cyril.

An interesting note, Julie's other student who was showing that day won first place in the Amateur Equitation. So both of Julie's students placed first in equitation. A good day for Julie!

Have a great day!
